To Be Lung

To Be Lung is an experimental film and experience, created in collaboration with Juwon Lee and Lulu Alghofaili, that utilizes projection mapping and After Effects. This project delves into the concept of augmentation, particularly the idea of slowing down and focusing on breath during demanding times, like the middle of a Master's program.

We employed archived lung footage alongside illustrations, which were then projected in various ways onto ourselves and participants. The final piece is not just a documentation, but an experimental video portrayal of this immersive experience.

If stories about women from our region are left untold, they may be inaccurately depicted by others. This struggle resonates with many diasporic communities and children of immigrants, trying to find their place in a new culture while maintaining ties to their heritage, beliefs, and family. It's about finding a balance between these two worlds or exploring individualism in this space.
